Keyboard
You can change some keyboard setup items in the [Setup] Keyboard dialog box.
You can modify key assignments by editing the keyboard setup file. See also keyboard (overview).
Shortcut keys
VT window
- Alt+B
- Sends a break signal to the host.
- Alt+C, Ctrl+Insert
- Copies selected text to the clipboard.
If AutoTextCopy is enabled, text is copied when selected with the mouse.
- Alt+D
- Duplicates the current session (SSH, telnet only).
- Alt+G
- Connects to the local Cygwin.
- Alt+I
- Disconnects with the current host.
- Alt+N
- Connects to a new host or a serial port.
- Alt+P
- Prints the current screen, or the selected text.
- Alt+Q or Alt+F4
- Closes Tera Term.
- Alt+R
- Sends text in the clipboard to the host, and then sends a new-line code.
- Alt+T
- Sends a AYT (Are You There) telnet signal to the host. Usually, the host sends back some message responding to it. This key is available only with a telnet connection.
- Alt+V, Shift+Insert
- Sends text in the clipboard to the host.
You can also use right-click on the mouse.
If DisablePasteMouseMButton is set to off, You can also use middle-click on the mouse.
- Ctrl+Tab, Ctrl+Shift+Tab
- Switch to Tera Term next/prev window.
- Ctrl+Up/Down cursor
- LineUp or LineDown.
- Ctrl+PageUp/PageDown
- PageUp or PageDown.
- Ctrl+Home
- Move to top of buffer.
- Ctrl+End
- Move to bottom of buffer.
- ScrollLock
- Tera Term window scroll locked or unlocked(toggle)
- Alt+Enter
- Maximize Tera Term window(toggle).
Unless the title bar is hidden with HideTitle,
you can also use Alt+X from the context menu of the active window with Alt+Space.
- F1 key
- Push Num pad NumLock key.
- F2 key
- Push Num pad '/'.
- F3 key
- Push Num pad '*'.
- F4 key
- Push Num pad '-'.
TEK window
- Alt+C
- Copies a selected portion of the screen to the clipboard.
- Alt+O
- Moves to VT window.
- Alt+P
- Prints the current screen, or the selected portion of the screen.
- Alt+R
- Same as VT window.
- Alt+Q or Alt+F4
- Closes TEK window.
- Alt+V
- Same as VT window.
- Ctrl+Tab
- Same as VT window.
Meta key
When "meta key" is selected in the [Setup] Keyboard dialog, the Alt key works as the meta key in the VT window. For example in the meta-key mode, the Alt+A key sends ESC A. Shortcut keys which use the Alt key (such as Alt+C) are disabled in this mode.
